Cherry Blossom Ride

I got out of work early today to enjoy the 75 degree weather. I headed down to the tidal basin to ride -- which was beautiful, but crowded with all the tourists admiring the cherry blossoms which were in full bloom.

Skipping work

Yesterday I stole away from work in the afternoon to continue racking up the miles on New-Year's-Resolution-Breaker-in-Chief James Meffen.

A half century weekend

Today, I got out for a 20 mile ride. 50 miles over two days has taken its toll on my out of shape legs. I am layed up on the couch right now enjoying a frosty beverage to numb the soreness.

I am out of shape

February was so miserably cold that I couldn't get out much. So when the weather took an unexpected turn for the better yesterday -- much better, 70's and sun -- I was a little bit out of riding shape.

I set out to ride 40 miles....but when I hit mile 27 I knew that was it. I rode 20 miles on the Virginia trails and then a couple laps at Haines point.
